Tamilnadu Government has chosen Mollywood actress Asin Thottunkal, Nayantara and Meera Jasmine for the prestigious Kalaimamani awards for their contributions to cinema.

The leading actresses were named among the seventy persons who will be given the awards, this year for enriching their respective fields.

The awards are considered much prestigious as they come from the state govt.

All these actresses from Malayalam had left the Mollywood industry long time back to concentrate on Tamil and Telugu films, which yielded them diverse characters, more popularity and money.

Meera Jasmine had been till recently the actress who had been getting significant roles in Malayalam which earned her various awards year after year.

Nayantara is at present taking a short leave from her busy schedule in other language films, to appear as the heroine in Siddhique's ‘Bodyguard’.
