People walking along the Vazhuthacaud junction of the capital city were instantly surprised to spot their onscreen super star Sureshgopi roaming around trying to sell lottery tickets.

On getting near the star, they very well understood that Superstar Sureshgopi was not there to try another means of living but to support the state sponsored lottery tickets specially launched to support welfare funds of various artists in the fields. And in a matter of two hours the super star and his crew, including director K. Madhu and producer Sureshkumar were able to sell tickets worth Rs. 35,000.

The lottery tickets are priced at Rs 100 and the lucky draw will happen on the 9th of next month.

State cultural minister M A Baby who launched this special lottery last month in the presence of Mammootty and Mohanlal has also taken adequate steps to make maximum revenue. Efforts were also made to sell them in as many areas as possible with the help of Malayalee Councils so that NRI's can also buy them.
