Prakash Raj is one of the busiest actors in South Indian filmdom shuttling between Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

One of the highest earning actors in South Indian film industry, Prakash Raj has not taken a single penny so far for being part of director Priyadharshan's 'Kanchivaram'.

The off-beat film, which has been screened at several film festivals across the globe, has been selected for the competitive section of the forthcoming International Film Festival at Goa.

The movie is about a silk weaver's plight in the silk city of India (Kanchivaram). Says Prakash Raj, " I was not bothered about being remunerated. Rarely, an actor gets to do a satisfying, worthwhile film like 'Kanchivaram'. Perhaps after the theatrical release, if the movie makes any profit, I may get my share. I am not keen on gaining profit now. Job satisfaction matters more."
