Lakshmi Rai is all set to star in a Hindi film titled 'Hey Gujju' with Himesh Reshammiya. The film is produced by Studio 18 and is to be directed by Satish Kaushik.

Says Lakshimi Rai, 'I have waited for a long time for a Hindi film offer and finally I've got it. I play a Punjabi girl in the film and there loads of opportunities to come out with a sterling performance'.

On her comfortableness playing a Punjabi lass, she says, 'Many of my classmates were Punjabi. I know how they talk, dress and have observed all of these in great detail. Never did I imagine these elements would come in handy for me. I am most comfortable playing a Punjabi and there are many people who have told me I look like a Punjabi girl. So, I guess that's what made me get the role'.

'I have been part of two glamorous song sequences that were shot on beautiful sets in Mumbai', she adds.

Though Lakshmi Rai says she is getting Hindi film offers, she adds she would always maintain a strong base in Tamil films.
