Tollywod got its share of honours when the 54th National film Awards were announced today.
The film 'Kamili was selected as the Best Regional Film.
This movie is directed by K.S.T. Sastry. The film maker said that although his film have won the award, it is the same old problem of finding the financer for his next film that he is facing now.
He also urged the government of Andhra Pradesh to be more supportive in terms of helping the film makers like him with developing a system of financing the deserving film makers.
'Hope' directed by K. Satish and having Dr. Rama Naidu in the lead role won the award for the best social film. The film had won the state award also.
The director of this film said that he was quite sure of getting the national award because of the socially relevant theme of the film.
The film reveals the problems faced by the students if they fall short of the expectations of their parents and how some students even go to the extent of committing suicides.
The film maker decided to make a film on this now hot issue and problem after reading a newspaper article about student suicides in India.
The movie Kittu was selected as the best animation film. The movie is produced by Bhargava Kodavanti.
The director said that this film is the ideal example to prove that the culture of India can be portrayed in a great way through the medium of animation.
