This has been a subject of discussion for a long time now among the intellectuals and decision makers in India.

This crisis faced by the farmers and their effects on the rural economy and the potent weapon called microfinance that can bring about a great change in terms of earning patterns and bringing better life for the poorest of the poor forms the core of the story of the film 'Summer 2007'.

Sikander Kher plays one of the characters in this flick produced by Adlabs and Atul Productions to be released on June 13. Sikander along with Gul Panang, Yuvika, Arjan and Alekh play the five characters of medical students who go for a rural media training camp in a village.

The film's story progresses as the five friends gets involved with the problems faced by the villagers and how the life that sees around them have an influence upon them.

The five youngsters go through tribulations and gets insights from their own experiences.
They confront with the bitter realities, sometimes getting frustrated and discovering love on the way. Finally when it is time to say goodbye to the rural life, they find out that they have become better human beings, more stronger and more enlightened.

An important character of the film is played by Sachin Khedekar. This character was inspired by the life story of Mohamad Yunus of Grameen Bank who introduced the concept of micro credit into the world when he lent $27 to forty two people in 1976 going on to revolutionise the way in which the poor can be helped and today this system is practiced in 60 countries.

A great concept for a film that can send a good message and make the youth aware of the problems faced by the fast growing Indian economy.
