It is a long and painful journey for the actor. He has undergone the agony of being shuttled between courts for nearly 14 years. He has also spent almost 18 months in the jail. Sanjay Dutt, one of the leading stars of Bollywood, has been hitting the news for undesirable reasons. The star, however, has received a relief, as the Supreme Court has granted him bail.

The actor has been spending his time in Pune's Yerawada jail since October 22. He will come back to home today following the bail order issued by Supreme Court. He is likely to be released the jail today. The Supreme Court is believed to have has mailed his bail orders to the TADA court. The actor will be release on time if the TADA court makes necessary arrangements on time.

Earlier, on Tuesday the Supreme Court granted him bail in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Besides Dutt, who has been sentenced to six years imprisonment by a TADA court in Mumbai, 17 other convicts were also granted bail.

Expressing relief over the court's order, the actor's sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt said, "We are happy that he would come here soon".

"We hope for a better tomorrow and want to thank all who have supported us to overcome the situation," she added.

Dutt, in his plea, had contended that during the 14 years of trial he has already undergone one-fourth of the six-year jail term awarded in the case.

The journey of the trial is agonizing. The actor had remained in jail for 18 months during the trial before he was granted bail by the apex court. Dutt was convicted on November 28, 2006 and the quantum of punishment was pronounced on July 31, 2007, following which he was taken into custody.

However, he was granted interim bail on August 20 on the condition that on getting a copy of his conviction judgment, he would surrender before the TADA court.

Dutt, who got a copy of the judgment on October 22, complied with the bail condition and surrendered before being taken to Yerrawada jail in Pune.

The 1993 Mumbai blasts have changed the life of the Sunjay Dutt for ever. The star, however, stills maintains his star value and the potential to give hit films.

Now that he has been granted bail, we can expect the next in the Munnabhai sequel to begin soon.
