Union Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has urged actor Vijay not to act in scenes featuring him smoking on screen.

Taking part in a function in Chennai in Sunday, the Minister said, “Vijay is a much sought-after hero in Tamil Nadu. Youngsters and children watch his movies. Hence he should not set a bad example by acting in scenes involving him smoking on the screen”.

Vijay’s recent release 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' featured the actor smoking and boozing on screen.

It may be recalled that the Union Minister had urged even Super Star Rajinikanth to stay away from smoking on screen when 'Baba' was released. The actor obliged to his request and his films 'Sivaji' and 'Chandramukhi 'that came after 'Baba' did not feature him with a cigarette in his hands.

Will Vijay too oblige?
