'Kanna', directed by debutant director Anand deals a delicate issue of the difference between love and infatuation. The movie goes on exploring the infatuations of a 16 years old girl and deals with how she is back in track.
Anand was able to convince the producers this is the first venture for them too with the strength of his story. Kosmic Film Entertainment Company (P) Ltd wanted to produce quality films in Tamil. Anand, who had earlier worked as an assistant with K. Rajeshwar, Sabha, and Parthibhan, too wanted to make a film with substance without restoring to commercial gimmicks.
The common goal brought them together to create a movie, that doesnt try to entertain with violence, glamour, and other commercial ingredients.
Anand was able to convince Prakash Raj within 10 minutes. The busy actor cum producer could not allot more time for the young director to narrate the story. Anand used the opportunity and started narrating. Prakash Raj said yes at the ninth minute.
Raja (from Telugu) and Sheela don the lead roles. Seetha and Livingston play important roles. Prakash Raj in a strong and different role is said to have done wonders in his acting.
Ranjith Barot has done the music. The songs, which are already out in the market sounds good with a lot of variety. The tuneful songs are in such a manner that they tell you the story.
The movie sans the usual masala items, promises to be a different movie that could entertain with a strong message.
