Renji Panikkar's new film was earlier titled as Rowdram and within a week of shooting the news emerged that the title of the film has been changed to Showryam. And then after a week the director seems to take a u turn and is back on the old title Rowdram. The production vehicles that run across the sets now carry the poster titled Rowdram. It is still not yet clear in which name the film will finally appear on theatres.

With Mammootty again playing a character of a police officer, Narendran, the film will have a new heroine paired opposite him. Newcomer Manju from Chennai plays Mammootty's wife in the film. The debutante actress is doing her fashion technology course in Chennai. . The film produced by Marikkar films will have shades of every recent happening in Kerala politics. Rowdram is due for release on November 29.
