Actor – director Cheran is in great joy after scalping two National awards – for Aadum Koothu and Thavamai Thavamirundhu.

What more, Cheran's Thavamai Thavamirundhu has been inducted as part of the syllabus in a media university in Australia, Says Cheran, “The varsity sought my permission to add the film as part of their curriculum. I was overjoyed then”.

According to the varsity officials, “The movie dealt on a different theme and portrayed Tamil culture in a different dimension. It is a lesson for every human being”, he said.

Thavamai Thavamirundhu featured Cheran, Padmapriya, Raj Kiran and Saranya in key roles. The movie glorified the sacrifices of father in every family.
