Playing a soft subdued character of a writer, actor-director Parthiban was at his dignified best in Azhagi. He played a similar role in Thendral. Now in his under-production Ammuvagiya Naan, Parthiban dons the role of a writer again.

According to director Padma Magan the thrust has been on the conflict of the common man in his fight for social justice in Ammuvagiya Naan. Debutante Bharathi plays a call girl in the film. She is confident that the movie would be a perfect launch pad for her. Padma Magan is keen to make amends for the setback of 'Pallavan'.

“You learn from the mistakes. I have done my best to make the blend of arts and commercial aspects to a nicety. It is a daringly different movie aimed to touch the pulse of the audience”.
