Finally, the initial results of the big fight for Vishu, is with us. As expected the superstar’s films and the family dramas are ruling the roost, while some films which gave big expectations couldn’t reach up to what they promised.

In the end of every filmi season, we often see family dramas which make long runs are the ones which becomes the biggest grosser. The biggest victory of this season is also a family film, where Sathyan Anthikkad has once again succeeded in reaping benefits from his magical narratives.

1. Vinodhayathra: The film which started of slowly, became the rage among families within a couple of days. The Meera Jasmine -Dileep chemistry and Mukesh -Dileep sequences, together with the subtle humor by Sathyan has made the film the favorite among the family audiences. The film which is registering 90 percent collections in almost all the centres is expected too make a 100 days run.

2. Big B: The first week of Big B saw great initials and the viewers are giving high rating for the film for its technical and narrative brilliance. As the film was completed in a budget of 2.7 crores, a modest one when compared with other superstar movies, the film is expected to cash in the returns within a house full run of four weeks.

Released in 50 centres, the film has managed to collect a share of 1.05 crores in the first six days. Running with 80 percent audience in all centres, every one are in the look out whether the collections will sustain in the coming days. As the family input into the movie is highly debatable, the film may face a drop in further weeks. But if it caters successfully to a family audience, then the film will register one of the biggest successes for Mammootty.

3. Chotta Mumbai: The film has one of the biggest initials for a Lal film in recent times. But when the other films came up with Vishu, a collection drop was seen. But now the film is going steady with a 75 percent in almost every centres. Bad mouth publicity has definitely affected the audience inputs. But the film is all set to reach hundred days, as it has become a prestige affair for the fans and the associated film buffs.

The film, a light hearted fun filled movie has started attracting family audience. And their consistency will prove the fate of the film, as it has already been declared a hit. Coming after the success of Rajamanickam, the Anwar Rasheed's second film also proves that he is here to stay.

4. Pandhaya Kozhi: The Lal creations offering couldn't open big as it was expected. But as the songs have become a hit and the pretty posters and aggressive marketing have hit the audience, the film may become a cropper in a long run.

5. Athisayan: As expected the Vinayan film is making the children happy, but only the children. The fate of the film will be determined in the coming weeks, as the film's returns are increasing day by day with more and more little ones, pressurizing their parents to be in theatres with the Magic kid. In the long run, the film may climb up the ladder of chart toppers.

The listing is made strictly according to the collections in the initial weeks and as it is too earlier to decide on the final fate, the coming weeks may really change the number slots of the flicks. And films like 'Maayavi', which was going strong before the Vishu entries came, is still maintaining fifty percent collections even in the fifteenth week. The film will celebrate hundred with strong audience support, in less than a fortnight.
