The music industry witnessed good movement, as every film released during the season carried good music. The entries have pushed back the long time number one song Muttathe Mulle from Mayavi out of the list. The top five songs of the week are:

1. Mandarapoo Mooli - Film: Vinodayathra; Music Director: Ilayaraja: Lyrics: Vayalar Sarath Ch andra Varma; Singers: Swetha and Madhu Balakrishanan.

This well-picturised romantic song on Dileep and Meera Jasmine was bound to be a hit and it tops the charts with its hummable character.

2. Sundhariye - Film: Pandhaya Kozhi; Music director: Alex Paul Lyrics: Sharath Vayalar Singers: Shwetha and Vidhu Prathap.

Another new song in the tops from Alex Paul. The new singer Shwetha also has reasons to cheer as her two songs are back to back in the top of the list. The aggressive marketing by Lal also has helped in the increased popularity of the song.

3. Thala - Film: Chotta Mumbai; Music Director: Rahul Raj; Lyrics: Vayalar Sarath Varma; Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Arjun Sasi, Sangeeth and Rahul Raj.

This is the song, with interesting visuals, full of zest and youthfulness, which makes it a stunner in a fun film.

4. Vida Payaryukayaano - Film: Big B; music: Alphonse; Lyrics: jophy Tharakan

This is the only song in the list, not by the lyrics of Vayalar Sharath. Shreya Goshal has managed to create a hit in Malayalam, with her intense voice and tones. The songs is the marketing trump card of Big B to attract family audiences, via small screen

5. Sankathinu - Film: Panthaya Kozhi; Music Director: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Vineeth Sreenivasan and Ramesh Babu.

This is an item dance number in the film, which is a bit philosophical in lyrics. But the regular beats and chorus works, makes us to shake a leg to its tunes.

As a number of good songs are also in the bottom of the list, trying hard to the top, the month’s changing charts will be definitely filled with refreshing new songs.
