Kamal is a man of principles and ideals.

He stands up by those who have backed him.

During the shoot of Hey Ram, there were many who tried to paint a picture as if the film was anti-Gandhi in its intent.

But Kamal who understands the true spirit of Gandhism was deeply hurt by the insinuations.

It is at those times that he struck a valuable friendship with Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of the Mahatma.

Tushar understood and appreciated Kamal’s mind and methods. That is why, in a show of approval, he acted in Hey Ram.

Now Tushar Gandhi has come out with a book titled ‘Let’s Kill Gandhi’.

And guess who was at the launch in Chennai yesterday? Well, it was Kamal himself as he specially flew in from Malaysia to be part of the launch. It was a show of true friendship. Kamal it should be mentioned normally avoids public functions whenever he gets involved in a movie. He makes an exception for those whom he holds special.

Gandhi, and his great grandson, are indeed special to Kamal.

Kamal spoke about the book, Gandhi and his great grandson.

Indeed it was a lesson.
