Mohanlal will play the lead role in a movie to be shot entirely in Japan.

Lal would don the role of Ayyanpillai Madhavan Nair, who fought the Britishers from Japan in the movie. The movie would be directed by Albert, whose earlier film Kanne Madanguka was screened at the panorama last year.

A Japanese actress is reportedly cast opposite Mohanlal in the movie. Plans are on to produce the movie in Malayalam, English and Japanese says Albert.

The movie would capture moments in the life of Madhavan Nair from 1920 to 1970.

Adds Albert, Madhavan Nair was involved in Indian national Army and fought against imperialism in several parts of Asia.
