A Manirathnam movie always evokes expectations and is the butt of some guesses.

His latest Guru is no exception.

Though made in Hindi, with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the leads, Guru has already set the industry thinking.

Manirathnam as ever is very economical with words.

The film’s music, by A R Rahman, is also being talked of very highly.

Guru is believed to be a story on the life of Ambani (Dhirubhai).

Manirathnam, who was in Mumbai recently, said Guru, was a fictional film but hopefully it will be in touch with reality.

He added: ‘The film is about this character who is from a village and he climbs up the social ladder. So, we follow him and his path is what the film takes.’

As we said, Manirathnam is always measured.
