As Karutha Pakshikal is scheduled for a release by November, Meena the erstwhile super actress of the South is back after a short break in Malluwood.

She is playing the role of Suvarna, a rich lady who takes a liking to Murugan, (the role played by Mammootty) and his blind daughter in the film.

This role is small but very crucial in the film's proceedings as the entry of Suvarna with an intention to help the child and his father in distress, turns out to be the major turning point in the film.

Meena was the last minute replacement to Shraddha Arya - a Bollywood model, who was earlier supposed to do the role.

Karutha Pakshikal has another heroine, Padmapriya, who played a deglamourized role as a girl in the slums.

Mammootty who is having a meaty role in the film expects the film to make an influence among masses ala Kazhcha which also told a contentful story from the reality.

The film which was completed in a single schedule is expected to grace the theatres by the first week of November.

The film also has Jagathy and Salim Kumar among others in the cast. The film directed by Kamal will have a couple of songs by Mohan Sithara.
