Madhur Bhandarkar is turning fashionable these days. Well, he has been in vogue for some time now, it’s just that after treading the underbelly of ‘Chandni Bar’, dissecting the hollowness of ‘Page 3’ party circuit, the heartbreakingly ruthless ‘Corporate’ world and unlocking the stench of murky business happening at the ‘Traffic Signal’, the ‘realistic’ director has pointed his directorial guns at ‘Fashion’, a film on the fashion world.

Madhur was present at the Lakme Fashion Week currently being held in Delhi to research for his next project. In the last few years, the fashion world has seen some uprisings with designers blaming other designers of lifting their creations (Prime example being Rani Mukherjee’s outfit in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’), there are open secrets how many of the aspiring models serve as high profile escorts and even the male models are subjected to uncharacteristic propositioning by male designers.

Fashion is a good subject to tread on. But here’s hoping, Madhur doesn’t make it a bhelpuri of ‘Page 3’ and ‘Corporate’. Hope there’s something drastically different this time around. For if there’s any filmmaker who is capable of giving a realistic ‘fashionable’ picture with doses of entertainment, then its Madhur Bhandarkar.
