Jyothirmayi is one of the few from Malluwood heroines to spread her wings successfully in Tamil.

After a break in Thalainagaram opposite director Sundar C, she has a couple of big projects including one opposite Sathyaraj in Periyar and other with Vijayakanth in Sabari.

Asked whether she has decided to concentrate only in Tamil, no is the emphatic reply from the actress.

‘I am happy that I still have offers coming my way,’ says the actress whose role in as a pickpocket in Kalabhavan’s Chacko Randaaman was appreciated.

She says, ‘I am working in Viji Thampy’s Bada Dost opposite Suresh Gopi. I play a housewife in the movie'.

She says that her role in Periyar is close to her heart. 'Gnana Rajasekharan’s Periyar is a parallel cinema based on E V Ramasawamy Naikar’s life. I play Nagamma, his wife. Enacting the role was a great experience’, she adds.
