Kamal Haasan's much-awaited Dasavatharam went to floors today (Friday).

With the Aadi month over, producer Oscar Ravichandran commenced shooting for the magnum - opus that would feature Kamal Haasan in ten different roles.

Directed by K S Ravikumar, Dasavatharam's shooting commenced at Uthandi on the East Coast Road. Scenes involving Kamal Haasan were being shot by Ravikumar.

The movie has big names like writer Sujatha, dialogue-writer Crazy Mohan, cinematographer Jeeva and Bollywood's famous music-composer Himesh Reshammiya coming together.

Buzz is that Asin and Mallika Sherawat play the heroines.

Plans are on to get the movie completed early next year and release it on Tamil New Year's Day. Kamal looks very young and appealing in the ads released in the papers this morning. He is seen holding puppet strings on his hand. Tied to it are the silhouettes of the various characters he is supposed to play in the film.

Meanwhile, Kamal's Vettiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is set for release next week.
