Her coy-yet-honest Lolita act in ‘Parineeta’ has earned her lots of admirers. Obviously awards followed. And now even the author backed roles are flowing her way. When you sneak a first look at the stills and promos of ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ her refreshing charm is like a breath-of-morning-breeze. From what is touted as a total departure from the sixties’ look of her debut flick, Balan looks cool-n-comfortable in Today’s ambience (Especially the clothes). It is rumoured that she got ‘rather close’ with co-star Sanjay Dutt while shooting for ‘Lage Raho….’ and that they are having a ‘Scene’.

Never mind the rumours, but talking about her film career then she has become the darling of Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions. She is playing the lead opposite Saif Ali Khan in Chopra’s directorial venture ‘Eklavya’ which also has Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role.

It is being said that she is also being considered for Shaji Karun’s film on painter Raja Ravi Verma (where she will play the legendary painter’s muse), a role for which Madhuri Dixit was approached earlier. Now, another piece of news doing the rounds is that she has been finalized for the Hindi Remake of South superhit ‘Chandramukhi’, a role for which Aishwarya Rai had been approached by five different film makers. ‘Chandramukhi’ is now being directed by Priyadarshan and also stars Akshay Kumar.
