'Pathaaka' which was all set for an early April release will grace the theatres on July 16. The film which tells a story of a minister immersed in allegations, was originally designed for a release before general elections. But due to many reasons the film was kept back from public screenings. The film features Suresh Gopi, Sheela, Navya Nair, Saikumar and Devan in Prominent roles.

The film directed by K.Madhu had the privilege of shooting in and around the Government Secretariat and assembly buildings.

As it dealt with an explosive subject and contemporary politics, the film if released in original schedules could have changed the fate of many political leaders in elections. It was also alleged that the film was intentionally produced to create a new image to a minister of State who was then asked to step off power due to allegations on his personal affairs.
