Mamta Mohandas, who was in the news recently for her glamorous role in Lanka is proving bold once again. This time she captures news by denying the item dance roles that was flocking around her following 'Lanka'.

Unlike many of the Malluwood heroines like Nayantra and Jyothirmayi, who made it big in south by appearing in item dance numbers.

Mamtha says, 'She want herself to be known for her roles in classic characters and those that could showcase her acting abilities'.

At present, she is waiting for her prime release in Tamil, 'Sivappathikaaram' by Palanivel, where she has displayed her excellency act.

The Midle East born actress was introduced into filmdom by ace director Hariharan in 'Mayaookham' where she got rave reviews about her performance. But after that she was busy encountering the gossips about her relations with Suresh Gopi that followed her after 'Lanka'.
