He expressed his anguish at the marked absence of good films from other languages at the IIFA this year. He lamented that only Hindi films were being given preference and coverage while the vernacular medium has a veritable treasure of films which deal with emotions in great depth.

He further said showcasing only Bollywood products would send out wrong signals that there were no films worth mentioning in other languages in the country. That was a big insult to the regional language industry.

Speaking words straight from his heart is Mammootty.
