Vijayakanth's next venture for director Perarasu will hit the floors on 2 July.

The movie being produced by A M Ratnam for Sri Surya Movies is Captain's first film after being elected to the State Assembly.

The film was initially titled Murasu (drum), incidentally the symbol of the actor's party symbol (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam). But now sources say the director and the actor have opted for a title change and the movie has been named Dharmapuri.

Dharmapuri is tipped to grace the theatres this Deepavali.

Meanwhile Vijayakanth's last venture Perarasu featuring him in two different roles is still to release. Produced by Khaja Mohideen, the movie has been plagued by severe financial constraints and the producer is finding it difficult to see that the film gets released.
