Suresh Gopi’s Malayalam venture Pathaka nearing completion is based on real-life incident.

Remember the famous ice-cream parlor scandal that shook the whole of Kerala. It is tipped that Pathaka has a few scenes that resemble the scandal.

Pathaka tells the story of a young political leader who becomes the industries minister of the state and later forced to sacrifice his post owing to a series of scandals pointed at him. Later, he tries hard to reveal the conspiracy and re-establish his lost image.

Many characters in the film resemble those associated with the ice cream parlor case.

In the movie, Renuka Menon plays a research scholar, Sindu Menon a police officer and Navya Nair a social worker. Manoj K Jayan plays a police. Veteran actress Sheela plays an important role in the movie.

The film also has Janardhanan, Babu Antony, Siddique and Nishant Sagar.
