The new sensor norms regarding the use of animals in films has turned out to be a matter of solicitude for a number of producers who are waiting for the release of their films. According to industry sources atleast a dozen of films are trapped before the new legislations. Two of them - Kilukkam Kilukilukkam and Komban scheduled to release by the end of last month has to change their release date indefinitely due to noncompliance of these norms.

According to the new legislations , animals must not be strained at any cost for the shooting activities. A qualified veterinary doctor must be in the shooting locations giving sufficient directions, if any animals are to be used in scenes. He must take care of animals and he himself must be present with his authentication of no disturbance before the members of animal welfare in chennai when the film is screened there for obtaining a no objection certificate.

Kilukkam kilukilukkam with a lot of shots of horses, naturally as it is shot in Ooty, and Komban with entire story linked with elephants fell prey to the new theorists of animal welfare and they have asked for clearances which resulted in their delay. In films like Ammathottil, song sequences has been reedited avoiding passing animals before they were presented before the sensors.

The new enactment, has created a cold feet in cine circles and every one in locations are trying to keep even the passing birds at a respectful distance or other wise they will have to produce the necessary declarations for using their shot. Some producers are even in the lookout for veterinary doctors who can also work as assistant directors or crew people.

A typical kerala household, with lot of birds, cows and pets, will not be the same in films here after, as no producer is ready to take the risks associated with originality recreation. With all love towards animal welfare,It must also be noted that artist's creativity is curtailed in these type of summons.
