Kollywood is witnessing a lean time now. None of the movies released this year so far has gone on to make it big.

Since New Year, the Tamil film industry has seen more than a dozen movies including the much-expected Aathi starring Vijay.

Unfortunately almost all the movies but for Ajith's Paramasivan and S J Suryah's Kalvanin Kadhali have witnessed a lukewarm response.

Critically acclaimed films like Chithiram Pesuthadi, Amirtham and Kodambakkam too have also not created any ripples at the box office.

Subsequent events in Kollywood are also not showing any positive signs.

The Tamil Film Producers Council are on the war path against the Sun TV and the film distributors are also upset with Vijay's Aathi and are urging for a compensation from producer S A Chandrasekharan .

If last year was marked with good hits and a healthy trend, the beginning has been tough for Tamil film industry.

But the industry known for resilience can be trusted to bounce back with vigor.
