Director Blessy is ray of hope in Malluwood for the several the die-hard lovers of Malayalam cinema. When commercial films have taken over Malluwood, his Tanmatra set new trend here.

The movie starring Mohanlal and Meera Vasudevan was about a man affected by Alzheimer's disease. It went on to win over five State awards announced recently.

A thrilled Blessy, says, 'the award has made me more responsible. I consider each film as my debut. My next film will be totally different from Kazcha and Tanmatra.

Thanking his mentor Padmarajan, he says, 'I learnt the craft of film-making from him. A good film needs a good script and a good storyline. Movies like Tanmatra would bring back family audience to theatres.'

Blessy is also very keen that he does not fall trap to the cliches of the medium.
