Noted dialogue writer Liyakath Ali Khan, known for all the fiery dialogues that he had penned in Vijayakanth films, on Thursday joined the AIADMK in the presence of Chief Minister and AIADMK supreme J Jayalalithaa.

Liyakath Ali Khan joining the AIADMK has resulted in several eye-brows going up in surprise. He was considered one of the men who had influenced Vijayakanth to jump into politics and ensured that he spoke for the masses in all his films through his dialogues.

At this juncture when everyone expected him to play a major part in Vijayakanth's newly-launched political party Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, his decision to join AIADMK has surprised many in the industry as well as in politics.

And then there is also a speculation that would Vijayakanth offer support to Jayalalithaa as his friend himself is in the AIADMK.
