It was the gathering of who's who of Kollywood at the annual Film Today Awards distribution in Chennai on Saturday.

While Vijay won the best actor award for his role in Gilli, Asin walked away with the best actress award or her performance in M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi.

Taking part in the celebrations several senior actors from Kollywood including Sathyaraj and Prabhu heaped praises on Vijay for his heroism on screen.

Vijay thanking Dharani for giving him a movie like Gilli, said, he continues to act in similar roles for his fans demand the same. My aim is to simply entertain the audience who pay for watching movies.'
