When girls from Malayalam have taken to glamour to stay afloat in Tamil film industry, Navya Nair has taken the other way. She played the mother of two daughters in Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy (a remake of the Malayalam movie Chintavishtayay Shyamala).

Her performance has won her good appreciation. Her next in Tamil too is a semi-classical film titled Amirtham, which she hopes would fetch her an award.

Ever since she made her debut in Sibi Malayil's Ishtam, she has come a long way.

Navya says, 'I do what the directors want me to do with all sincerity and devotion. And ultimately my sincerity pays. So I view acting as a thoroughly involved performance with the maximum of sincerity and devotion'.

This has worked wonders for Navya.
