One of the biggest expectations of the season is Mazhai, the remake of a Telugu hit. And the film's hero feels that it would live up to it.

Mazhai has shaped up well and would succeed at the box office, says Jeyam Ravi. A remake of Telugu blockbuster Varsham, Mazhai has Ravi playing the lead role opposite Shreya.

'I have drenched in rain for several days during the shooting of this movie and I have had several bouts of fever, Ravi says and shrugs it off all as worth the trouble.

He adds 'the debutant director Rajakumar has done a good job'.

Asked about roles that he aspires to play, Ravi says, ' Iam interested in doing a variety of roles. I would like to prove that Iam versatile and capable of meeting the demands of different types of scripts. I am taking steps to evolve as a complete actor.'

Justifying in working in remake films, he says, 'My first two films were remakes. But, Daas and the forthcoming Idhaya Thirudan are direct stories.

Today,the audience can be satisfied only with a good story. In such a scenario, there is nothing wrong in bringing good stories from different languages. Cinema is a medium where only success is a constant. From the audience to producers to distributors, everyone likes only a hit.'
