Ram Gopal Verma seems a great fan of Mohanlal. He played the Malayalam superstar in Company.

Now he is going to cast him in the new Sholay.

Sources say Mohanlal will play the role of Thakur in the remade Sholay.

Thakur Baldev's character --- a cop whose hands are severed by the baddies --- was played by the redoubt able Sanjeev Kumar in the original.

Mohanlal will be happy to play the role of a cop and Ram Gopal Verma is sure that Mohanlal will deliver the goods.

Mohanlal will have good company as Amitabh Bachchan will play the role immortalized by Amjad Khan ---- Gabbar Singh.
