Music is out, so what's next? 'Lingaa' will hit the screens on Rajinikanth's birthday this year, on December 12th. The crew confirmed this news even yesterday, at the music launch, which saw everyone from the team, except only AR Rahman. This is an ambitious project not only for KS Ravikumar, but also for their Superstar himself. For those of you who are curious about what 'Lingaa' is all about, here's how the film came into being:
"After I got hospitalised on health concerns, I doubted if I could ever get back to my toes and walk the style for the camera again. I somehow felt it wouldn't be possible at all. But my daughter showed me that coming back to cinema is very possible. However, 'Kochadaiiyaan' is a genre that was almost unheard of until it hit the screens here. And I still had almost fifty percent of the audience saying they wanted to see the real me in at least one frame. That is when I decided to work on a movie for the audience. But I wanted it done immediately. And that is when KS Ravikumar called" said Rajinikanth, speaking at the audio launch.
"It is Pon Kumaran's story, and he came to me to narrate the story, as sent by Ravikumar. I liked it instantly. But I wanted it done at the earliest. And we all decided unanimously that only Ravikumar is capable of completing a movie in under 6 months, which would otherwise take two years to be done with. We started work with Diwali as our deadline. And today here we are!" beams Rajini, thanking the team for the movie.
