National Award winning actor Salim Kumar has filed a complaint in High Court against Kerala State Film Award Jury of 2013. He alleges that the jury members, especially the jury Chairman Bharathiraaja, didn't attend the screening of the movie 'Moonal Naal Njayarazhcha' which was produced by him. This could have resulted in the early elimination of the movie from contention of awards. The court has issued legal notices against the Kerala Government, Jury Chairman Bharathiraja and other Jury members, upon the complaint by Salimkumar.
The 2013 Kerala State Film Awards faced lots of flakes ranging from giving the national award winner Suraj Venjaramoodu the award for best comedian. Many actors and film makers have raised their complaints in public when the state awards were announced then.
