It was expected that 'Holiday' would open well and see its collections consolidate over the weekend. Also, it was predicted that the film's collections during the first three days would be around 40 crore. This is exactly what happened as this A.R. Murugadoss directed film saw good traction coming its way from the audience. The film had a gradual growth on a day by day basis, which was pretty much expected out of this genre.
As a result, eventually 40 crore came in for this Vipul Shah production and now all eyes are how the weekdays perform. In the middle of this all, 'Filmistaan' released as well which saw good to excellent reviews coming its way. Commercially though, it was overpowered by 'Holiday', though still it was trying to make its presence felt amidst the audience. Again, there was growth over the weekend, though numbers stayed low at a little over 2.5 crore. Chances are good though that it would hang on well in its weeklong stay though. Meanwhile, Sharib Hashmi is a talent to watch out for as he would be much spoken about with 'Filmistaan' finding him some good
