The lovely lass hailing from Belgaum Lakshmi Rai evinced interest in acting at an early age is heading for variety of roles in her career ever since ‘Valmiki’ opposite Shivarajakumar. Lakshmi Rai has grown up superbly in non Kannada films in her career in last seven years of career acting in nearly 40 films. She returns in ‘Kalpana’ after four years to Kannada.

At the age of 23 with over five films a year starting career in 2005 Lakshmi Rai begins her second innings in Kannada after Valmiki, Snehana Preethina and Minchina Ota. This week release ‘Kalpana’ role is what she had done in ‘Kanchana’ Tamil film. The Tamil version was dubbed in Telugu language also.

The return of this fine actress is with Upendra super star of Kannada cinema is another high point of her career. The year 2012 has been very important for Lakshmi Rai as her Casanova with Mohan Lal (she made debut in Malayalam in Rock and Roll), Maya Mohini, Adhinayakudu were released so far.

On 28th of September one Kannada and one Tamil film of Lakshmi Rai is releasing. While it is a repeat role in ‘Kalpana’ it is ‘Thandavam’ in Tamil with Vikram and Jagapathi Babu is all set for release. Vana Yuddham and Attahara of AMR Ramesh is also set for release of Lakshmi Rai.
