Producer Shankre Gowda is making 'Lakshya' Telugu film remake in Kannada. It is 'Varadanayaka' starring Sudeep, Chiranjeevi Sarja and Nikesha Patel in lead roles.

Chiranjeevi Saraja cousin of action King of Tamil films Arjun is waiting for a big break and he expects one from this action film. Sudeep plays the big brother in this film as a cop.

The title of 'Varadanayaka' was first launched by 'H2O' producer Dhanraj in 2004 and song recording muhurut was also held at Akash Audio. Dhanraj did not renew the title and now producer Shankre Gowda has registered it. But there is another claimant – Soorappa Babu for ‘Varada’ title starring Shivarajakumar.

As of now 'Varadanayaka' wrests in the custody of producer Shankre Gowda and the shooting for the film has been completed by 35 percent. Sudeep is joining the team by December first week.

Siblings – Saikumar, Ayyappa Sharma and Ravishanker are working together for the first time. Ayyappa is the director while Saikumar and Ravishanker are on the screen. Sudeep was astonished when Shankre Gowda announced it.

Sudeep is wearing uniform from 'Veera Madhakari'. He was a cop in 'Kempe Gowda'. He is again a cop in 'Varadanayaka'. Remake film is like a novel. It is like a torch. It has to go on giving enlightening says Sudeep.
