A few days ago historian Dr Chidananda Murthy objected to the title 'Hakka Bukka' the founders of Vijayanagar Kingdom for a comedy Kannada cinema. It is still at the discussion level at KFCC.

Now comes up another title 'Obbavva' for controversy. Writer of Kannada literature Mohiuddin has asked the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and the regional censor board not to accept such films for coming before the public. 'Onake Obbavva' is a historically significant personality. An action film starring Ayesha by director Anand P Raju discuss the warrior in own style Onake Obbavva. Such permission should not be granted for the film makers observed Mohiuddin.

Director Anand P Raju reacting to such objections said he is not tarnishing such legendary personality at all. For another film of mine the title is 'Channamma IPS'. That does mean 'Kittur Chennamma' another ruler in the past. I am aware of the history and not bring any bad name to such persons observes Raju.
