Dr Bharathi says no to award panel

The pride of Kannada cinema Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana as expected said she will not head the Karnataka State Film Awards committee for 2009-2010. The obvious reason is Dr Vishnuvardhana’s ‘Aptha Rakshaka’, ‘Master’ in the fray for awards.

The government of Karnataka without looking into the probable films in the contest announced the decision hastily in this month that Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana to head the state film awards committee.

On Sunday evening Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana declined the head the post quoting the films of her late husband films in the contest. According Bharathi Vishnuvardhana ‘Apthaka Rakshaka’ has bright chances of securing minimum of six awards. It will be right on the part whoever heads the panel in taking such a decision she recommended.

The government appointed nonagenarian KCN Gowda to heads the subsidy committee for 50 quality Kannada films for the year 2009-2010. Is age going to be a barricade for KCN Gowda, one has to wait and watch.
