One of the three producers of Upendra debut film as hero blockbuster 'A' (made in 1998) Jagannath (other two are Manjunath and Ramakrishna) died of acute kidney failure on Friday night around 9 pm in his residence in Bangalore.
Jagannath aged 52 years was taking treatment to kidney ailment for a long time. Last he was seen at 'Arbhata' Kannada film briefing on July 18 in Green House Raj Milan. He mentioned at that time both the kidneys are problematic for him. He also expalined the aspiration of making sequel to 'A' with Roopesh as the hero.
The super hit of 'A' in 1998 that gave a marvelous opening for Upendra did not put the producers in comfort zone. 'A' was the trend setter film in the career of superstar Upendra and in the Kannada cinema industry.
Jagannath independently produced Hagaluvesha starring Shivarajakumar, Agrahara and Arbhata Kannada films he was the joint producer. Hailing from weaving community Jagannath could not see progress in the cinema field.
His cremation took place on Saturday afternoon. It was Upendra birthday celebration in Bangalore. He could not make it to pay last respect to his producer who gave life in the professional career.
