The producer of high reputation today from ‘Naayi Neralu’, ‘Gulabi Talkies’ and now ‘Kanasemba Kudureyaneri’ all in the direction of four times Swarna Kamal award winning director Girish Kasaravalli – Basanth Kumar Patil honored the stalwart director Girish Kasaravalli on receiving the honorary doctorate from Kuvempu University recently.

At the Basanth Productions ‘Muthina Thorana’ reaching 500 episodes in ETV Kannada directed by Girish Kasaravalli's wife Smt Vaishali Kasaravall, the get together event of the highly reputed national and international fame director who was felicitated with thunderous applause.

"I have got identify in the last five years that is more than what I have earned in the 30 years of business. "For that fame Girish Kasaravalli was solely responsible for name and fame for me in films and his wife Vaishali got me fame in television arena", said Basanthkumar Patil.

The felicitation function to Girish Kasaravalli was attended by chief of ETV Kannada Pawankumar Manvi, Chief Editor of popular Kannada daily Vijaya Karnataka Vishveswara Bhat, Dr Jayamala, KFCC president.

Dr Jayamala in her address on this occasion lauded the moral strength of Basanthkumar Patil. "He runs behind the moralistic values but not behind money", stated Dr Jayamala.

The multifaceted nature of Basanthkumar Patil was also hailed by very knowledgeable editor Vishveswara Bhat. ETV head Manvi had seen the latest film ‘Kanasemba Kudureyaneri’ of Girish Kasaravalli and he is of the opinion that the film would create a milestone.

On this occasion Basanthkumar Patil disclosed that he is producing fourth film in a row in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli.
