The winner of multiple international awards Mukhaputa (The Cover Page) depicting the challenges of young children growing with HIV by India Classic Arts USA production is hitting the theatres on this Friday. The film is produced by Prof Narayan S. Hosmane, a distinguished research professor in bio chemistry and his brother Subraya Hosmane, a cancer researcher living in Northern Illinois and Roopa Iyer. The film is directed by Roopa Iyer.
The film set in a small town in South India is about a socially responsible educationally oriented traditional woman adapts a young baby girl, and realizes after several years that the child had HIV at birth. The story is centered around the child, and a few of her underprivileged friends of the same age. It depicts the challenges faced by the girl, her family and the society and showcases pre-conceived notions that society infers on patients with HIV, and how children and their family are coping up with life. With every positive messages, the film reinforces the strength needed to grow against all odds. The message is applicable to all around the world who are struggling to grow in a biased society for no fault of theirs.
S Ramachandra is the cameraman and Hamsalekha has scored the music for this film. Roopa Iyer plays the lead while Baby Saniya is in the role of the child affected with HIV.
