The new look, new preparation and new film ‘Shankar IPS’ for dashing hero of Kannada cinema Vijay of ‘Dhuniya’ fame went on the floors on Thursday morning at JP Nagar Venkataramanaswamy temple.

From this film the Hindi films costume designer Irfan Khatri is making debut in Kannada and actor Vijay is importing Proto-X proteins from USA to look his physique stronger and better.

Sitting very comfortable in the box office with films like ‘Junglee, Thakkath’ doing well in the box office actor Vijay hopes this would cater to all needs in the box office. I have taken training to get back six packs for two months. This role is also very stylish says Vijay.

‘Shankar IPS’ is a strong cop with nerves of steel. From the pages of a few real life cops director MS Ramesh picked the incidents to make it a commercial entertainer. Director MS Ramesh has sought the permission from concerned cops in real life and he intends to focus on the fit and unfit cops. Ramesh held discussions with various cross sections of people in finalizing this script and to better the screenplay he consulted the cast of his film.

Catherine is the debut heroine in Kannada from Mumbai. She plays a model and a Miss India aspirant. When she faces the hurdle in her reaching the top spot the tough cops takes up the case. I play a simple girl who has big dreams said Catherine speaking to media persons.

Producer of the film K Manju feels the film is at the safe hands. Vijay agreed for the payment he committed during ‘Dhuniya’ film and the film will be a rich entertainer he promises.

Gurukiran scores music for five songs and Dasari Seenu is the cameraman. The film will be shot in Mysore and surroundings. Avinash, Rangayana Raghu and others are in the cast.
