Subramanim 'Bhishma'

Subramanim, producer, executive producer of quite a number of films in Kannada also a director is like ‘Bhishma’ in the eyes of newcomers today.

A strong right hand man of V Ravichandran, assisting in direction, production (he produced Pancharangi with Yogaraj Bhat) and execution in the past Subramanim directed ‘Chora Chitta Chora’ starring V Ravichandran and Namratha Shirodkar in 1999 for producer Sa Ra Govindu is a brilliant guy of the Kannada cinema industry. He is giving right words of advice to the people contacted by him.

On Wednesday night at the media meet of ‘Preethi Geethi Ityadhi’ of debutant director Veerendra, Subramanim was addressed as ‘Bhishma’. The other day actress Deepa Sannidhi considered Subramani as mentor. He is in the camp of a few producers and actors giving impetus.

Subramanim recalling the birth of interesting youngsters in the aegis of Yogaraj Bhat (who is currently getting ready for a Hindi cinema direction) especially in the direction department said the commitment of the debutants like Pawan Kumar, Pawan Wadeyar and now Veerendra is quite impeccable. He advised Veerendra in his debut direction to take more responsibility as he will be directly held responsible for hit and miss of a film.

On the newcomer team making ‘PGI’ Subramanim said the right spending without wastage is the first win today. He assured that for the debutant producer from Belgaum Vijayakumar Mangsule of Fantasy Screens the budget would not increase more than Rs.1.5 crores.

Subramanim gives the example of Pawan Kumar ‘Lucia’ that is made in people money of Rs.51 lakhs as initial capital earning nearly Rs.2.5 crores today.
