Ace cameraman of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam films S Sriram in his debut direction and cinematography for 'God Father' Kannada cinema starring Upendra in triple role says this remake is made in a better way by pruning the length and adding more technical values. For Kannada film market the budget of Rs.9 crores spent on this 'God Father' shot in 74 days and a length of 1 lakh 40000 feet is very promising film. The Upendra fans would lap up the film with variety in the film flooded. The duration of Kannada film 'God Father' is two hours and twenty three minutes.
Sriram cameraman of top films in Hindi like Milenge Milange, Wanted, Tere Sang, Money Hai To Honey Hai, Thanmathra, Anavaram, Tere Naam etc has taken up the biggest challenge of directing a Kannada film with super star Upendra in triple role and doing the cinematography.
Doing the double role is the big challenge for me; I was stunned with newcomer Soundaraya performance and presence of mind besides Upendra fullest cooperation. I think only Upendra can take up this triple role. I assessed after watching his 'Raktha Kanneeru' says Sriram.
The people come to the theatre eking out time from hectic schedule or in leisure time. My duty was to give a sumptuous food. For me a film has to blossom well on the silver screen. It should be beatified to the extent possible. As I had no fear on anything, I could tell what I wanted. A great director in himself Upendra was apprehensive on only the dance portion. I have convinced him that he can do it well. After all cinema is not a reality says Sriram with great confidence on the success of 'God Father'.
Sriram married to a Coorgi Cauvery blessed with a son Kailash who is studying in fourth standard. For Sriram cinema is like a beautiful handwriting. For the success part what is written is important. That is the script and content for a film. I have never attached prominence to money. Money cannot get everything done he says with a firm mind speaking to this correspondent at KSCA Club on last Monday night.
Sriram is a go getter. Even among the bad people he chooses good and incorporate in him. He has recently completed cinematography for 'Oh My God' of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
I have traveled a long way in this cinema industry. I made a short film 'Blind Folded' in just Rs.8 lakhs in 1998 and won a few awards. I intend to take up direction of Hindi film in the forthcoming days says Sriram, a gritty man in the profession.
The involvement of Sriram is so appreciable that he had even seen the main theatre Narthaki where his film 'God Father' is releasing on this Friday. He has made suggestions on the positioning in the projection box. Looked at the sound and screening system to give perfect hearing to the eyes and ears.
