Officials from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday arrested film directors Kicha and P V Prasad on the charges of cheating an actor to the tune of Rs 67 lakh by promising distribution rights and world satellite broadcasting rights for the upcoming film 'Eppadi Manasukul Vandhaai'.

While Kicha is popular for movies such as 'Thee' and 'Bhavani', Prasad hogged the limelight with 'Kadhalil Vizhundhen', the first distribution venture of Sun Pictures.

In his complaint, Tamil Kumaran of Teynampet said Prasad and Kicha had taken Rs 67 lakh from him promising distribution rights for the film ‘Eppadi Manasukul Vandhaai’ starring Kumaran’s son Vishwa.

However, they entered into an agreement with Crust Realtors Private Ltd for providing the distribution rights for the film, Tamil Kumaran said.

Based on Tamil Kumaran's complaint, the CCB registered a case under section IPC section 420, 109 and 506 (i), arrested the two and remanded them to judicial custody.
