Sunil has revealed that Trivikram Srinivas, his writer-director friend, has advised him to focus on lead roles. After Poola Rangadu, Trivikram feels that his friend should not deviate from his path and concentrate on building an image of a hero. When Sunil asked him for a role, he gave him this sage advice.
Sunil is admittedly not after only hero's roles. He is deriving satisfaction from the fact that he has done justice to the lead role but he will not think it is not worthwhile to play sidekicks opposite the other heroes. "My status may have changed but the value I accord to my work has not changed", he says.
He feels that it is burdensome to be a hero. As a comedian it is enough if one simply acts in the limited number of scenes but a hero has to carry the entire film on his shoulder.
Sunil is reprising Madhavan's role in the remake of Tanu Weds Manu. Since Maddy played a role that was very different from the kind of roles for which Sunil is known for, the character is likely to be thoroughly rehashed to suit his style.
